
Nicholas Daniel Vie, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis on June 26, 1938 to John and Evlyne Vie. Nick proudly served his country in the US Navy. He retired from Chrysler in 1995 after 30 years of employment. Nick loved hardware stores, and showed it by working at Ace Hardware, Central Hardware, and Lowe’s throughout the years. He will be greatly missed by all.
Nick is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary; children, Theresa (Jeff) Schneider, Rhonda Hornbuckle, Cindy (Mark) Redmon, Laura (Mike) Leissner, Patty (Chip) White, Angel (Tony) Garcia; grandchildren, Chelsea (Joey) Schneider Kirk, Daniel Schneider, Ernie Hornbuckle, Michael Hornbuckle, Crystal Hornbuckle, Zachary (fiancée Jocelyn Sullivan) Redmon, Kaitlan (Matt) Hinesley, Jason Yeoman, Richie Yeoman, Jessica Yeoman, Kyrsten White, Colin White, Rebecca Garcia, Rachel Garcia; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Steven (Mary) Vie and David Vie; mother of his children, Joann (John) Curry; and beloved cat, Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nick’s name to Special Olympics Indiana, 6200 Technology Center Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
